Business Professional Polish
You and your employees advertise your company. People are the
billboard of your business. Your client gets a favorable or unfavorable
impression from: the person who answers the phone (see 'columns by
diann catlin'), the outward appearance of your personal assistant,
untimely phone and email responses, and even your table etiquette.
Lessons in Etiquette’s Professional Polish Seminars encourage
teamwork, respect, business protocol and change in the areas you see that
need improvement. We listen to the problems and tailor classes to correct
those problems.
Lectures are given to individuals, teams and at weekend company
retreats.

Debutantes and Social Groups
Social etiquette faux pas’ scream lack of training and deter your
networking advantages. How you shake hands, which person you introduce first, how
you relax in making conversation, the protocol of RSVP and knowledge of
what that spoon is doing at the top of your plate, ALL spell out who you
are. Social Skills Seminars help everyone feel comfortable in all
situations. Debutantes learn posture, presence (see 'columns by diann
catlin'), gait and even the waltz. Lectures to doctor’s wives and event
planners show how to make hospitality second nature. All lectures are
designed to put participants at ease. Etiquette is not snooty; it embraces
and puts others at ease. Lessons in Etiquette also offers custom
invitations and calligraphy through Catlin Cards 904-384-0269.

"Diann gave our Debutante group of
women lifelong lessons in the finishing touches that all well
rounded and successful people need. Many gentlemen also gained
insight from her classes on proper introductions, dining, thank-you
notes and even waltzing. She emphasized how students trained in
etiquette must place others before themselves..."

Students
Young people thrive on hearing how important it is to value others.
Etiquette teaches that respect is the backbone of all of it’s rules. We
come to your school designing classes to encourage courtesy. We stress
that the future employment of your student depends on knowing and
practicing the art of etiquette. Small group classes are also available
for groups of 8-12. Students need to know Introductions and Conversation,
how to use meaningful verbiage, how to interview, and even that posture
and choice of clothing give a clear message of who they are.

Athletes in the Social or Business World
If you are an agent or a coach, or a very wise athlete, you may have
noticed that just because someone has great talent in their sport, they
will not necessarily have the life skills to make them comfortable in
public. The player represents himself, his family, the agent and the team.
He is watched and rewarded especially when his character is exemplary (see
'columns by diann catlin'). Athletes must interview with the media and the
team that hires them, and must be taught to enunciate, phrase their words,
and never to react to baiting when responding appropriately
serves everyone so much better. We
also teach social skills including dining etiquette so the player will
relax as he has meetings over a meal. College athletes are taught
interviewing techniques to prepare them for future business opportunities.
All lectures stress reputation, character and integrity, and are tailored
for the particular need of the athlete.
Suggested Seminars for Athletes
-
Life skills including dressing for interviews, interviewing skills,
social etiquette or the art of representing yourself and your team in
social situations
-
Articulation and verbiage selection
-
Work ethic, listening skills and role model responsibilities
-
Telephone and correspondence etiquette
-

Etiquette Training
College is the perfect time to
polish life skills. Today students must interview in one of the most
challenging economies ever. They may interview over a meal, or in front of
more than one employer. How they dress, how they conduct themselves and
how relaxed and confident they feel will determine the success of the
interview. Lessons in Etiquette covers the gamut of dining and
business etiquette and even advises groups on how to plan an etiquette
dinner, what foods to choose and the best set up for the room.
Traditionally we demonstrate (bringing our own set-up) and lecture
for the first hour and continue training on Business Etiquette the
following hour while the client dines. A handout is provided for note
taking and future reference.
Suggested two- three hour
seminar over a 3-5 course meal

Decorating
Just as a person welcomes by gracefully
practicing the rules of etiquette, so does a room welcome by carefully
chosen colors and furnishings. In truth a room speaks as eloquently as a
person who chooses her words with great care. We love to use many of the
treasures you already have to make your home or office embrace those who
enter in. Our organizational skills perfected by years of running special
events also assist our clients during a move or change of location.

Our home is
filled with warmth thanks to Diann's eye for color and design and ear
for listening. She listened carefully to our desires to have favorite
family pieces around us, and knew the value of those memories to us.
She skillfully used our furniture in unique ways that pleased us so
much. Her knowledge of where to shop for additional pieces to
complement ours was thorough and very creative.
Diann had
excellent suggestions on purchasing just the right furniture or lamps
to enhance the architectural features of our home and embrace the
view. Her purchasing suggestions were based on wisdom of the
decorating marketplace and skillfully used. Without a doubt Diann’s
taste is wide ranging from the formal rooms to the fun of our
Grandchildren's room. I am quite certain new clients will not be
disappointed when engaging her to help with interior design and all
aspects of decorating. She truly added to the warmth of our home for
us, retaining our individuality and our love for our family. We
delight in going into each room now. It lights up our lives!
Thank you, Dear
Diann! Your cheerfulness and un-daunting optimism made decorating our
home a joyful experience we will treasure the rest of our lives.
Lovingly, Rick and Sharon Willeford
